Author Guidelines

Journal of Education and Recreation Patterns (JERP) is dedicated to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research that contributes to the fields of education, recreation, sports sciences, and psycho-social studies. Authors are expected to follow the submission and formatting guidelines below to ensure a smooth review and publication process.


Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the journal's online submission system.
  • Use the official JERP template when preparing your manuscript.
  • Submissions not conforming to the template will be returned for revision.

Manuscript Preparation

  • Language: English
  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Length: Minimum 14 pages (no strict upper limit)
  • Font: Palatino Linotype, 11 pt
  • Line Spacing: 16 pt; Paragraph Spacing: 6 pt before and after
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides (A4 paper)
  • Text Alignment: Fully justified

Title Page

  • Full names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, ORCID IDs, and phone numbers of all authors
  • Clear identification of the Corresponding Author
  • Structured abstract: 150–220 words, Palatino Linotype, 10 pt italic
  • Keywords: 3 to 7 keywords (Palatino Linotype 9.5 pt, only first word capitalized)

Article Structure

Please follow the exact formatting rules specified in the JERP template, including font sizes, headings, and spacing.

1. INTRODUCTION

  • Capitalized, bold, centered
  • Includes background, significance, research problem, objectives, and literature gap

2. METHOD

  • Describes the model, participants, instruments, procedures, and ethics
  • Use italicized, left-aligned subheadings (e.g., Participants, Data Collection)

3. RESULTS

  • Present findings with formatted tables and figures
  • Use clear titles and APA 7 formatting (no vertical lines in tables)

4. DISCUSSION

  • Interpret results, compare with previous studies, and explain theoretical/practical implications

5. LIMITATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Explain methodological constraints and offer suggestions for future studies

6. CONCLUSION

  • Summarize major findings and their contributions

7. REFERENCES

  • APA 7th edition
  • Palatino Linotype, 10.5 pt
  • Include DOIs and URLs

Ethics and Transparency

If the study involves human participants, the following must be clearly stated:

  • Name of ethics committee
  • Approval date
  • Document/reference number

Supplementary Files (Optional)

Authors may upload additional materials, such as:

  • Raw data files
  • Research instruments
  • Images, figures, videos, or audio content
    All supplementary content must be clearly labeled and have necessary permissions.

Declarations (Required)

Please include the following in your manuscript before the reference section:

  • Data Availability: (choose one)
    a) No data available
    b) Data available upon request
    c) Data openly available with link
  • Author Contributions: List roles (e.g., Conceptualization, Analysis, Writing – original draft)
  • Funding: State the funding source or write “None”
  • Conflicts of Interest: Declare or write “None”
  • Acknowledgements: (Optional)
  • Biographical Notes: 15–42 words per author; may include Scopus, WoS, and Google Scholar IDs

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscript is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere for review.
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), and it fully complies with the official JERP template.
  3. The manuscript is prepared in English, uses Palatino Linotype (11 pt), with correct line and paragraph spacing, and all figures/tables are properly formatted according to APA 7 guidelines.
  4. Author information is complete, including full names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID IDs, and clearly designated corresponding author.
  5. The reference list is in APA 7th Edition style, and includes DOI or URL links where applicable.
  6. Ethical approval details (if required) have been included, along with proper declarations regarding data availability, author contributions, conflicts of interest, and funding sources.
  7. Supplementary materials (if any) such as datasets, tools, images, or permissions for third-party content are clearly labeled and uploaded.
  8. I agree that, if the manuscript is accepted, I will follow all editorial recommendations for revisions and formatting prior to publication.

o We collect only the personal data necessary for editorial, review, and publication processes (e.g., names, affiliations, and contact details).
o This data is used exclusively for journal-related activities, such as peer review, correspondence, and dissemination of published content.

o When personal information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized.
5. User Rights
o Individuals have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
o Users may also object to or restrict the processing of their data in certain circumstances.
6. Policy Updates
o We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.
